Ghosty Support
Need help with Ghosty — the privacy firewall that lives on your iPhone or iPad and stops trackers in every app?
Common Questions (FAQ)
- How do I turn Ghosty on?
Open Ghosty and tap Enable Ghosty. iOS asks to add a VPN configuration — tap Allow and confirm with Face ID or your passcode. There is no VPN server: the configuration is how iOS lets Ghosty inspect your device's own connections. It appears in Settings → General → VPN & Device Management as “Ghosty”.
- Free vs Premium?
Free: all five curated categories, today's blocked lookups and Insights, and up to 10 domains on your own blocklist.
Premium: every lookup (allowed as well as blocked), 7-day and 30-day Insights, real-time protection for tracker-looking domains that aren't on any list, an unlimited blocklist, and your choice of DNS resolver. Monthly, yearly, or a family plan for up to six people.
Restore purchases from the Premium screen.
- Nothing is blocking?
Check that protection is on from Home, that Ghosty isn't paused, and that at least one category is switched on under Protection → Categories.
- Can I turn it off for a while?
Yes. Switch protection off from Home and choose 15 minutes, 1 hour, or until tomorrow morning. Ghosty turns itself back on at the deadline, and you can remove the configuration any time in iOS Settings.
- The configuration won’t install?
Ghosty needs iOS 18 or later. If you tapped Don't Allow, tap Enable Ghosty again. Restart your device if the prompt never appears.
